Drive Belt: Is the tension loose or is the belt worn?
Air Flow: Are the condenser or radiator fins blocked by leaves or bugs?
Oil Stains: Can you see oily residue on the compressor, hoses, or pipe fittings? (This indicates a leak).
Mounting: Is the compressor bracket loose?
Service Ports: Are the plastic dust caps missing?

1. Run it once a week Run your air conditioner for at least 10 minutes every week, even in winter. This circulates the oil, preventing the compressor seals and hoses from drying out and cracking.

2. Use the ‘Defrost’ Mode Turn the AC to its coldest setting and highest fan speed, then run the ‘defrost’ mode for 5–10 minutes. This helps clean out accumulated moisture, preventing mildew and that nasty “wet cloth” smell.

3. Use it in Winter Your AC doesn’t just cool; it acts as a dehumidifier. Using it in winter keeps your windscreen free of fog and improves visibility.

4. Keep Windows Up Even on the hottest days, keeping windows closed improves the car’s aerodynamics. This reduces fuel consumption and exterior noise while allowing the AC to cool the cabin efficiently.

Dye: Add UV dye for future leak detection.
Evacuation: Vacuum system for 20 mins to remove moisture.
Charge: Fill with correct refrigerant type and capacity.
Test: Performance test and leak check (UV lamp & electronic sniffer).
Record: Log pressure and temperature readings.
